The EuropeanPWN –
Women on Boards - Maximising the Value
Join us for an inspirational presentation from Natalie Svejgaard, Senior Investment Manager for IFU/IØ (Industrialiseringsfonden for Udviklingslandene/Investeringsfonden for Østlandene), as she shares her first hand experiences working on Boards.
By being board members, women gain not only an important tool for career advancement, but bring their knowledge, experience and talent to companies and organisations which for many years have been reserved for or dominated by men. Promoting women as board members has the objective of empowering women, however the ultimate goal is to have business communities functioning better by tapping on the often underutilised pool of resources which women represent and by reflecting better the composition of the company’s stakeholders. Therefore, promoting women on boards should go hand in hand in making women with relevant industry experience prepared for board membership, in terms of both understanding their obligations as board members, implications of becoming one and expectations, as well as helping them optimizing their performance as board members and optimizing the board work as such.
Natalie will address many of those questions we all ask such as: Why have women on Boards? What makes a good board member? What makes a good board?
When: Thursday, May 20, 2010
Time: 18:30 – 21.30
Where: Equinor, Frederiksgade 21, 1261
